All children's activities are open to visitors and friends, so grab the cousins, call up the neighborhood crew and bring along school friends.
Everyone is welcome!
Nursery is available during both adult services. You will be at ease leaving your little children in our care at Water's Edge Church. The environment is clean, safe and age appropriate. We share your concerns about the safety and security of your loved ones and have procedures in place to ensure all our children are accounted for and released only to the registered allowed person. We have only the scheduled volunteers in the nursery each week with our kids, so there is no coming and going of parents or other volunteers. We screen and train WEC members who have a passion for working with children. And if you are uncomfortable at first, please utilize our cry room where you and your child may be together in a room where noise is not an issue while you listen to the service.
A Friend's House is an exciting ministry for the children of water's edge church. We engage 4 year-olds to 4th graders in dramatic lessons and worship through song, dance and prayer. A Friend's House isn't what you might expect of children's church, it is better. We are dismissed from the adult service and join our enthusiastic staff in the theater room of the education building. There you'll find us celebrating our Lord. And along with the casual setting and thumping music, there is always a lesson to learn, relevant to us, today's kids. Parents, if you can handle it, we welcome you to join us. We are proud to love Jesus and we say so with mighty voices.
Sunday School classes serve as time for our children to grow spiritually and build close relationships with peers. Our teachers are pre-screened and responsible members of the congregation at water's edge church. Children learn simple Bible truths they can understand, and we encourage parents to stretch deeper into those same lessons with children all week. It is acceptable for any child to jump right into an existing class, as our curriculums usually relate new lessons each week. Our children also build long-term relationships with teachers who commit for the entire school year. We approach our children's ministry with a desire for excellence because this is often the place where children first make the decision to follow Jesus.
Special Events for our children are planned occasionally to get us together for fellowship and fun. Sometimes we get creative with crafts, other times we sleepover, and still other times we just party. No matter why we get together, we recognize how important it is to give parents some time to themselves, and children some time to be children.
